Overview

The slim, compact CLS1320 contains design features that make it ideally suited for applications where sensor performance and system reliability are design considerations. They are used extensively in motorsport data acquisition systems for monitoring suspension movement, throttle & clutch pedal position and fluid reservoir level.

The CLS1320 housing is manufactured from aluminium alloy and the operating shaft is stainless steel. The spherical mounting bearings and body clamps are machined from aluminium alloy (as opposed to moulded plastic) for high strength and durability. The sensor is environmentally sealed and is fitted with Raychem fire and chemical resistant, high temperature FDR-type55-24 signal cabling.

The CLS potentiometer operates utilising the latest developments in composite track technology. The combination of hardwearing composite track and precious metal contacts ensure infinite resolution with long operation life. The sensor is designed to convert linear movement into a proportional voltage output using a simple 3-wire operating circuit. The physical design of the CLS linear potentiometer enables its survival through the severest environmental conditions.

Other applications include motion control systems, hydraulic & pneumatic actuator feedback and manufacturing process monitoring & control.
