Aero wind tunnel measurement sensors supplied by Active Sensors

Active Sensors have been chosen to supply sensors to an internationally recognised company involved in the design, manufacture and installation of specialist wind tunnel equipment for aerodynamic research. Due to the limited mounting space available for the sensor, the ultra slim and compact CLS0950 linear potentiometer was chosen for the motion control system. This motion control system was designed specifically for wind tunnel use and for accurate testing, the engineers needed to accurately control roll, pitch and yaw motions to simulate real life expectations. To ensure this, the feedback sensors where installed in the actuator systems. The CLS0950 linear potentiometers output signal was then fed into the control computer to give accurate positioning of the three degrees of movement.
