Description

The XLT is a linear variable transformer (LVT) position sensor and is offered with either integral or separate signal conditioning electronics for simplicity of operation. The sensor is available in slim 9.54mm or 12.7mm (1/2") diameter housings with mounting options of body clamp, flange or rod-end bearings. The XLT operates from either a 5Vdc regulated or 6 to 30Vdc unregulated supply with an output signal of 0.5V to 4.5Vdc over the measurement range of 1mm to 200mm (8"). The sensors precision wound inductive coils enables an improved temperature performance (low thermal drift, which is typically <±0.01%FS/°C) compared to similar inductive products. The signal electronics and sensor electrical connections are fully encapsulated (sealed to IP67 as standard); enabling the necessary environmental protection to provide a stable electrical output under severe vibration, acceleration, mechanical and thermal shock.

The separate signal conditioning module option is offered where the application environment has too high a temperature or is hampered by sensor mounting space restrictions. In this case, the signal conditioning would mount and operate remotely from the harsh environment. The XLT has an operating temperature of 180°C for the sensing unit and 125°C for the signal-conditioning module.
