Rotary Potentiometers

The RP rotary potentiometer range is designed for the most demanding control and measurement systems. They are used extensively in motorsport for throttle and gear position control systems, steering angle measurement, and the monitoring systems of the chassis. They are also used in general industry for in position feedback control systems and monitoring applications. The sensors 'low force' multi-fingered electrical contacts are ideal where the measurement application experiences severe vibration in one position for long periods. The combination of 'layered track' technology and multi-fingered electrical contacts ensures infinite resolution coupled long operational life. The operating temperature is 125°C and are available with a choice of electrical angles and mounting options. RP rotary potentiometers are sealed to IP66 as standard.

RP0900 series

The RP0900 is a high performance rotary potentiometer sensor designed for the most demanding control and measurement systems. They are used extensively in motorsport for throttle and gearbox control, steering angle measurement and the monitoring systems of the chassis and also industrial applications such as valve position feedback. Models available have a choice of mounting, shaft options and electrical angles up to 350°.

RP5100 series

This general-purpose sensor is used extensively in motorsport data acquisition systems for monitoring suspension movement, steering angle and gear position. The sensor housing is manufactured from glass filled nylon and the operating shaft is stainless steel. The sensor is environmentally sealed as standard and is fitted with Raychem fire & chemical resistant, high temperature FDR-type 55-24 signal cabling. The sensor housing is also designed for the easy fitting of an optional shrink down boot for additional sensor protection. Designed with a combination of Active’s unique ‘thick track‘ technology and precious metal multi-fingered electrical contacts, the sensor has an infinite output resolution coupled with long operational life.

RP5200 series

The multi-fingered precious metal electrical contacts, combined with Active Sensors unique hard wearing 'thick track' technology provide unparalleled levels of reliability coupled with long operational life. The RP5200 has precision set stainless steel ball race 'shaft bearings' that provide excellent vibration and shock performance throughout the life of the sensor. The housing is manufactured from aluminium alloy and the operating shaft is stainless steel. The sensor is environmentally sealed and is fitted with Raychem fire and chemical resistant, high temperature FDR-type 55-24 signal cabling. The housing is designed for the easy fitting of an optional shrink down boot for additional sensor protection.
