Active speed sensors are designed for use in the automotive, industrial, railway and the aerospace industries. The sensors provide speed and direction information for control and measurement systems. Applications include speed control, braking systems, traction systems and data recording. Performance features include rugged housings sealed to IP67 for fluid immersion and fully encapsulated electronics for survival in extremes of temperature, vibration and shock. Rotational speed sensors are designed to detect a target-induced magnetic field between the sensor face and a target. No magnets are required in the target. The sensors have an operating temperature of 200°C and are heat cycled prior to final calibration to ensure thermal stability and survival when operated at elevated temperatures. Customer specific designs can be manufactured within two weeks.
